In India, the civil aviation industry has been one of the fastest-growing sectors during the last three years discounting the impact of Covid-19. As of 2020, India has become the third-largest domestic aviation market in the world. On its part, the Indian Government is working towards increasing the number of airports to cater to this rising demand. It has been planned to have approximately 200 operational airports by FY40 from the present around 125. India’s aviation industry is expected to witness INR 35,000 crore investment by the year 2026. The regional connectivity scheme named UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) to make flying affordable for a common man is fueling the surge in passenger traffic across the country. To support this rapid growth in the aviation infrastructure there is a huge demand for professionals with knowledge of aviation management. The curriculum of this specialization integrates management and aviation domains allowing the learner to specialize and prepare for management roles in the aviation sector. Management of Airline Operations, Ground Handling Operations, Cargo and Logistics Management, Fleet and Revenue Management, and many more areas connected with the aviation industry have career avenues for management professionals with a sound understanding of the operational aspects of the aviation segment.
