This specialization is benchmarked to the CMA course of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, formerly known as ICWAI, and as a part of its duty governs the profession of Cost and Management Accountancy. With the globalization of all economic activities, the industries both in the manufacturing and service sector have recognized the potential of the Cost and Management Accounting profession to make operations more cost-effective. Cost and Management Accountants covers various aspects like investment planning, profit planning, project management, and overall managerial decision-making process. CMAs have a leading and important role to play in the GST era. Several courses under this specialization follow the same curriculum as prescribed for courses under the Foundation and Intermediate level. Therefore, a student enrolled in the Cost Accounting specialization stands to get the advantage of learning and preparing for the CMA course along with the B.Com program or claim exemptions/credit transfer as applicable and approved by the University.
